Importing data from external sources?

Does VenueMagic offer any facilities for importing data from external sources?

For example, I've recorded joint rotations for an animatronic using a motion capture system. I'd like to import this data onto Level Control tracks to drive brushless servo motors.

Is there a file format that can be imported for this kind of data and is it documented anywhere? Or perhaps some other feature for bringing data in from external sources?

Yes VenueMagic has a way of exporting data from other software. It may not work in all cases, but here is the entry right out of the manual:

VenueMagic can import profiles from and ASCII text file that conforms to a specific format. This makes it possible to input show data created by other software. This is done by selecting “Text File” as the file type in the file browser when you are selecting a file to import. The text file must adhere to the sample format below:





* Sample VenueMagic ASCII-based Profile File



* An asterisk as the first character in the line denotes a comment

* *** FILE_VERSION must be 1.0.

* *** DESCRIPTION can be anything up to 254 characters
